The Blind Eye Turnicate is among the inaugural submissions found within issue #1 of PULSE COMIC ZINE (March 2006). This version of the Blind Eye Turnicate is, among other things, a creative conception of the surface nature and outward appearance of the pre-apocalyptic "harvesting of souls" commonly referred to as "The Rapture." The installment you are about read is only part of a larger story, collectively called "The Machinated Omniverse" which asks the question: "what if God was a mechanical MACHINE (a device for overcoming resistance at one point by applying force at some other point; any mechanical or electrical device that transmits or modifies energy to perform or assist in the performance of human tasks) made of ice-cold metal?--and, if so, why did he not make us in his image? Why has he made us so fragile--so easily bent out of shape, corrupted and able to conceal our true natural form?.... If this be the case, then to make it to Heaven man must be made out of sterner stuff than the mere flesh he is born into. In a mechanized universe, man is assembled and dismantled--mechanically, like a machine...
The major human elements of "The Machinated Omniverse" are three human characters: the abnormally large and ungainly "Final Child" (as seen in "The Blind Eye Turnicate"), the abnormally small and weak "Cloaked Hero" (only referred to posthumously in "The Blind Eye Turnicate") and the human form of the "Arbiter of Light" (the large mechanical beast in "The Blind Eye Turnicate"); the "evil" invisible mechanical creature in "The Blind Eye Turnicate" is known as the "Arbiter of Life."
